Serena Stauffer

Looking to add a fun day of adventure to your Puerto Rico vacation? Look no further than spending a day traversing through El Yunque National Rainforest.

El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest System, and has more than a dozen hiking trails, picnic pavilions, towers, rivers and waterfalls -- all awaiting your visit.

Located on the island’s east side with one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems, this picturesque landscape is not one to miss, especially if you’re trying to capture that perfect island vacation photo to make all your Instagram followers jealous.

Check out some of the most instagrammable spots in the rainforest below.

The Yokahú Tower

Standing at 75 ft. tall, the Yokahú Tower was constructed in 1962 by the U.S. Forestry Service to give tourists a spot to appreciate a 360-degree view of all the rainforest has to offer.

La Coca Waterfall

There are no waterfalls in Puerto Rico more beautiful and captivating than the ones you’ll find in El Yunque. La Coca Waterfall is one of three waterfalls in the rainforest and is the easiest to visit as it is located right off the main road closest to the park’s entrance.
